GF-1
Menu + Control Dial Settings |
The first lens that I
purchased with the GF1 was the Panasonic 20mm f1.7 Lens with it's 40mm
field of view, which later proved ideal for 'wider' street use.
I later started to
use my manual focus Nikon 50mm f1.4 AI-s Lens on the GF1.
In March 2010, I
decided to purchase a Panasonic 14-45mm Zoom OIS Lens to try out for
travel and for leaving on my GF1 as a 'general use' lens.
These menu settings
have therefore been updated as of 18th March 2010 to reflect the use of
all 3 lenses.

To achieve
Infinity Hyper Focal
with the 20mm f1.7 Lens - (Depth of Field back from Infinity - Depending
on Aperture but f4 recommended) I use Control
C1 and
then switch the camera off and back on - the lens will
automatically set to infinity focus (do not touch the lens manual focus
ring whilst using it or you may lose infinity focus)

Dial
Controls - Set-up Routine
I pressed the
Menu/Set Button to enter the Menu program
I used the Top Dial
A Mode
to program my choices for C1
then in the Custom Menu (See No 9 below)
I saved all the settings to
C1
- Custom 1 Control Switch then
I used the Top Dial
A Mode
to program my choices for C2
then in the Custom Menu (See No 9 below) I saved
all the settings to
C2
- Custom 2 Control Switch (I used the C2-1 Selection as the C2 Control
has 3 separate menu areas but C2-1 is my default choice on the top
dial)
Once I saved C1 and
C2 - I used the Top Dial A
Mode to program my choices for A
and then exited using the Menu/Set Button. (A
Mode settings are saved automatically as I change them)
I used the Top Dial
iA
Intelligent Auto Switch to program my choices for
Video.
I use the
Top Dial
iA
setting only for video and I use the small red
button on the top of the camera to toggle video on and off.
When using the camera
and when making any changes in the menu (or with exposure compensation)
- only
A Mode will
remain changed when the camera powers down or is switched off or the
Control Dial is turned away from A
and then back again. The programmed Controls
C1 and
C2 will revert to their original saved
parameters.
